Blood Sugar Balance: Living with and Preventing Diabetes & Heart Disease
These appointments are designed for individuals with Type II Diabetes or those who have been told they are at increased risk, which includes diagnoses like pre-diabetes, metabolic syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, high blood pressure, or heart disease.
These eight-weekly visits will cover what happens in the body to cause diabetes and heart disease. How food, movement, stress, sleep, supplements, and how environmental factors impact diabetes and heart disease. Learn about useful mind-body practices and the importance of social connections related to overall wellbeing.
Please note that in-person group visits are canceled due to COVID–19 until further notice. Group visits will begin to be offered ONLINE in the Fall. If you are interested, please send an email to [email protected] for more information.
Join a group if you:
- are a registered patient with Hennepin Healthcare (you do not have to have your primary doctor in the Hennepin Healthcare system.)
- are interested in holistic, integrative and functional health
- intend to attend all appointments
- are covered by Medicaid/Medicare, Medical Assistance, Hennepin Healthcare / Hennepin County employee plans. Co-pays and deductibles apply similarly to a one-on-one level 3 or 4 primary doctor’s visit. Check with your insurance provider – some private insurance plans also cover group visit appointments.
