Dr. Potokar’s therapeutic approach is integrative, including use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, interpersonal therapies and Motivational Interviewing. Her practice interests include psychological recovery, serious and persistent mental illness, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring disorders.

Dr. Potokar is a senior clinical psychologist. She received her PhD in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University in 2008, and trained as a scientist-practitioner. She obtained a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology – Behavioral Neuroscience from Bowling Green State University in 2003. Dr. Potokar completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, specializing in serious and persistent mental illness, post traumatic stress disorder, and geriatrics. Her post-doctoral training was also at Minneapolis VA Medical Center, focusing mainly on clinical research related to serious and persistent mental illness.
