Clinical Expertise

Dr. Marchion Hinton is a clinical psychologist within the Family Medicine department. Her specialization involves exploring the overlap among mental, emotional, and physical health within the primary care setting. As a clinician, Dr. Hinton provides brief assessments and interventions to promote overall health and well-being. She values evidence-based treatments most often working from a cognitive-behavioral framework. As a faculty educator, she helps family medicine resident physicians integrate behavioral science into their medical practice (e.g., effective doctor-patient communication, and lifestyle change strategies).

Dr. Hinton earned her PhD from Western Michigan University and completed a two-year fellowship at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
