Frequently Asked Questions

If you can, bring any medical records you have from previous doctors. We will need to know about any and all medical problems, previous surgeries, allergies, current medications, immunizations, family history, and any other information about your body and life that might be important for your healthcare.

Locally, within the Twin Cities, we can refer you for facial feminization surgery, voice surgery, top surgery (breast augmentation as well as masculinizing chest reconstruction), and recently, for vaginoplasty. There will likely be more to come soon.

This is a model of caring for transgender patients who wish to masculinize or feminize their bodies with hormones in order to better align their outward appearance with their gender identity. The heart of this idea is that if someone can demonstrate that they are able to understand the risks, benefits, and potential effects of hormone replacement, a doctor can and will be willing to help them safely begin and continue hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
