About the Program

About the Program

The Emergency Medicine Postgraduate PA Program is an intensive 13-month program that provides didactic and clinical training in emergency medicine to prepare the graduate to start a career with the skills they need to be a competent emergency medicine physician assistant. Trainees will practice alongside established Advanced Practice Providers and emergency medicine residents at Hennepin in our Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center under the supervision of our outstanding emergency medicine faculty as well as gain additional experience pertinent to emergency medicine through off-service rotations. Our inaugural postgraduate PA class started in March 2022.

Upon completion of all requirements of the program graduates will be awarded a certificate of completion and will have fulfilled most of the clinical requirements for the EM CAQ (Certification of Added Qualifications in Emergency Medicine) while also providing the didactic training to take the exam.
