HERE film series continues with Episode 4: A Residents’ Story
The Hennepin Healthcare Film Series “Here” is back with a new episode, available to everyone on Tuesday, January 18. The latest episode titled “Here: A Residents’ Story”, is a bit of a departure from the previous three, though is equally as heart-warming and compelling as its predecessors.
The “Here” series is a collection of Hennepin Healthcare branded short films celebrating the incredible work and care that our caregivers provide on a daily basis. These short films of optimism follow a patient or employee journey while shining the brightest lights on our staff, clinical expertise, and our commitment to compassionate care.
The fourth episode in the series shares the story of two of our inspiring residents: Dr. Brandi Gorden Klukas and Dr. Ka Bao Vang. We follow the journey of these two young doctors as they both reflect on their unique paths to becoming physicians, and the obstacles they had to overcome to fulfill their ambitions.
The “Here.” film series is part of a broader initiative launched in January 2021 with Episode 1: Reggie’s Story, which chronicled Reggie McAllister’s long battle and eventual triumph over COVID-19. In Episode 2: Dalton’s Story, we shared the harrowing tale of a 10 year-old’s frightful boating accident, and his brave recovery. The third film in the series, Episode 3: Dwayne’s Story, tells the heartwarming journey of Dwayne Sheppard. Dwayne was in dire need of a new kidney, when an unlikely living donor stepped forward with the ultimate act of giving.
These episodic videos tell stories of hope that highlight the leading-edge medicine, compassion, community and connection at Hennepin Healthcare. The primary goal of this series is to broaden awareness of the clinical expertise and show the exceptional care delivered in such a uniquely personal manner.
