Men can face various health issues over their lifetime. Trying to live a healthy lifestyle means exercise, healthy eating, and good health habits. But this may not always be enough to maintain that lifestyle. A broken bone may send you to the Orthopedic Clinic. Diabetes or heart problems may be in your family history. Arthritis may creep in as you age and send you to a rheumatologist for treatment. And to no fault of your own, you may experience problems with your urologic system.

The urologic system in men deals with the urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra), or how your body urinates. It also deals with male organs – the penis, testes, scrotum and prostate. Urologic health is important but is often rather uncomfortable or hard to talk about. But it shouldn’t be.

This June 24th will be the first virtual medical group visit Dr. Pagliara will hold. Group medical visits are held in different specialties and areas of Hennepin Healthcare. Billed like a medical office visit, they are a great way to get a lot of information out to more than one patient at a time.

Patients will not be on camera and no names will be used. Dr. Pagliara will include issues such as erectile dysfunction (ED), incontinence (urine leakage), and prostate issues. He will cover problem symptoms, causes, and possible treatments. This visit will start at 8 am and will last 40 – 50 minutes. You may ask questions or ask for clarifications, and the good thing about group visits is that someone may ask a question you were thinking of as well. People tend to open up more than they do one-on-one. When you make your appointment, you will also make a one-on-one 15-minute appointment (again virtual) with Dr. Pagliara sometime between the hours of 9 am – and 11:30 am. At that visit, you can discuss any personal issues with him, or ask to cover something in more detail. Future follow-up will be your choice along with Dr. Pagliara’s recommendation.

Passionate about his work, Dr. Pagliara’s future goal is to hold medical group visits with Spanish-only and Somali-only speaking patients. With the help of Translation Services, he hopes and intends to make this happen.

Register or make your appointment with the Connection Center at 612-873-6963. Just ask for ‘Dr. Pagliara’s group medical visit appointment on June 24.’ You will also schedule your 15-minute one-on-one. If you are a first-time patient of Hennepin Healthcare, you will register as you make your appointment. Again, your billing will be just like a normal medical visit. Translators are also available upon request.

This is a great opportunity to take initial action if something has been troubling you, and you have been hesitant or self-conscious to seek help. Appointments are limited to a certain number in the group visit but know future months will be available if June is full. Call now if interested at 612-873-6963.
