In-kind Contributions

We are blessed with an abundance of donations. Please contact us first to learn if we can accept your donation at [email protected].

Updates:

  1. Due to patient preference, we no longer accept knitted hats.
  2. We no longer accept cloth face masks

In-kind donations make a difference in the lives of our patients. Seasonal donations, such as blankets, quilts, new toys, and special need items are gifts that serve many areas of our hospital and clinics. We are always grateful for these donations.

Please note that Hennepin Healthcare is a designated National Safe Sleep Certified Hospital and nothing can be in a crib in the hospital, aside from the baby in a sleep sack or swaddle and a crib sheet, until 12 months of age.

Volunteer time creating homemade items may qualify for a match by your employer. Check with your HR department.

Greatest Needs

  • Blankets: lap blankets that fit a wheelchair, swaddling blankets for babies and twin size blankets or quilts to cover a hospital bed are welcome for Spiritual Care, Hospice, Pediatrics, and Cancer Center.  No tassels please, they can get caught in chairs and beds. Fleece fabric is especially appreciated.
  • Adult fabric/fleece hats for patients receiving cancer treatments. Due to patient preference, we no long accept knitted hats. See chemo headwear pattern.
  • Fabric hearts for NICU, 4x4 inches in felt or cotton.
  • Toys: Hospitals are boring, especially for children. Visit our Child Life Amazon wish list
  • Hand-made 'surgery dolls' for our Child Life Specialists. The dolls help young patients understand where their surgery will occur and what to expect for recovery and treatment.  See surgery doll pattern.

Group Activities

We invite organizations, civic groups, neighbors and friends to join together to do good for Hennepin Healthcare. Visit our Doing Good webpage to learn more about group in-kind drives and corporate engagement activities that benefit our patients and team members.
