Commitment to Patient-Centered Care
“I am committed to whole patient-centered care and preventative medicine by involving patients and their loved ones in collaboration to determine the best decisions for them.”
My main specialty is in geriatrics and chronic care management. I worked in long term care facilities managing vulnerable older adults and those with other comorbid conditions including severe psychiatry illness and addiction. I spent 7 years as an inpatient orthopedic nurse at Hennepin Healthcare managing pre and post-operative orthopedic patients. I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a doctorate in nursing practice as well as a certificate/minor through the center for spirituality and healing where my DNP project focused on mindfulness-based stress reduction and other holistic modalities for health. I then continued at Winona State University where I completed a post-graduate certificate as a family nurse practitioner. I am triple board certified as an advanced practice holistic nurse, family nurse practitioner, and adult/geriatric primary care nurse practitioner. My favorite patient populations include geriatric, homeless, integrative, and preventative medicine.
