Clinical Expertise
Dr. Quirk has always been interested in medical education and care of the underserved. After training at Hennepin Healthcare and completing her chief residency, she pursued formal tropical medicine training in England prior to doing relief work in Aceh, Indonesia, after the tsunami in 2004. Following this experience, she ran an internal medicine residency program in Laos for sixteen months, taught and mentored Lao doctors and helped organize and fund post-graduate fellowship training for graduated Lao internists. She returned to the Twin Cities in 2006 to work as a teaching hospitalist, then in 2014 took over as Program Director for Hennepin Healthcare’s internal medicine residency.
