Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, an acute care hospital. Hennepin Healthcare was the first hospital in Minnesota to be verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Adult Trauma Center for adults and pediatric patients.
Services
Our trauma surgeons are board-certified, and many have completed specialty fellowships in their area of surgical specialty. Hennepin Healthcare surgeons perform nearly 10,000 surgeries each year. While more than one-third of the surgical patients are considered "major" in the severity of illness according to University Health Consortium data, Hennepin Healthcare surgeons also provide a full range of elective surgical care and have expertise in the latest minimally invasive techniques.
Our trauma surgeons provide emergency surgery for injured and acutely ill patients, intensive care for critically ill patients following an injury or surgery, and elective surgery for patients of all ages.
