Medical Assistance Renewal
Update Your Contact Information

If you have Medical Assistance (MA) or MinnesotaCare, the Department of Human Services (DHS) must review your eligibility once a year to see whether you are still qualified. This process is called a renewal.
Update your contact information so the DHS has your address. They will send you a packet in the mail when it is your time to renew.
Scan the QR code or visit the 'my contact info' page on the Department of Human Services website.
Renew Your Healthcare Coverage
When it is time for your renewal, you will receive an envelope with a blue circle marked "Important information enclosed" with your renewal documents.
Fill out the documents. There will be several options to return them including mail, fax, and an online option.
For more information visit the 'renew my coverage' page on the Department of Human Services website.
Qualifying for healthcare assistance was something done yearly, but was paused during the pandemic. Going forward, enrollment will again be required every year.
If you are having problems or do not receive your packet or simply need help, you can call a navigator. Under "Navigator Network", click on the map for your language and call an agency listed depending on the county where you live.
