Prior to meeting Claudia, I was not aware of the role of a doula. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, comforting and helpful on one of the most difficult and beautiful days of my life.
I want to share my heartfelt thanks to Claudia Beck, a doula with Hennepin Healthcare for guiding me through the birth of my son on May 1.
Prior to meeting Claudia, I was not aware of the role of a doula. She was so knowledgeable, friendly, comforting and helpful on one of the most difficult and beautiful days of my life. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her.
She helped me so much as we attempted a difficult induced vaginal birth. When plans changed to a C-section, Claudia was with me through every step of the road. She answered my questions, helped comfort me during the operation, took photos of my son’s birth, helped me do skin-to-skin and breastfeed when I could barely feel my arms.
I’m grateful Claudia pointed out that our son has a tongue tie. We were able to get his tongue clipped right away and this has made a big difference in his breastfeeding match!
We are so in love with our son and I am so thankful for the care we received during his birthday. He’s a happy, healthy baby!
