Commitment to Patient-Centered Care
“Being a physician and caring for patients is much more than a job or a career; for me, it is the vocation of my life. My adoption by a Minnesota couple as an infant changed my life’s trajectory and my name to Jason, which means ‘one who heals’. I treat patients with a sense of gratitude and humility and am especially fond of patients whom society often relegates to the margins. I am most at home on the margins and am proud to have had such amazing patient teachers as I have had to this point and strive to continue that trend.”
Clinical Expertise
Dr. Como is board-certified in Family Medicine and he enjoys taking comprehensive care of his patients of all ages. He enjoys procedures, using point-of-care ultrasound, and working across a variety of cultures. His other main passion is teaching and he joins the Family Medicine residency faculty with the desire to assist in expanding procedural skills training for residents.

Personal
“I have run seven marathons to help with water projects for World Vision in the last 10 years. I don’t like running, but I believe in the cause. I enjoy biking, learning how to swim, studying theology, drinking coffee, playing piano and guitar, and watching my kids all grow taller than me. Spanish language and culture, though a part of my Colombian heritage, are more recent additions to my life and continue to open my eyes to a world that is so much bigger than Minnesota. And that world is coming here in larger waves every day!”
