Chiropractic During Pregnancy
Benefits of Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy
Pregnancy creates many changes throughout the body that include challenges with posture, variations in weight, challenges with appetite, and different sleeping positions, to name just a few! These changes may create structural dysfunction, resulting in increased tension to soft tissues and muscles, potentially leading to pain or discomfort. Chiropractic care can be an effective way of naturally alleviating pregnancy related aches and pains, and can begin at any time.
A typical treatment plan for prenatal chiropractic care follows along the same frequency of OB/midwifery visits. Visits are spaced out more in the early weeks, and become more frequent in the final 4-6 weeks. Many chiropractors will also offer recommendations on stretching and/or utilizing Kinesiology tape for additional relief of discomfort.
All of our chiropractic team are comfortable treating pregnant people and a few of our chiropractors have additional perinatal training (listed below).
